The Client

Go BYK, Go Beyond Your Knowledge, is an Atlanta-based nonprofit that delivers children and preteen programming through summer camps. Their mission is to build children's self-esteem through mental strength, rooted in the belief that knowledge is power.

The Challenge

Go BYK has built something truly valuable—a dedicated parent community, steady enrollment, and a culturally grounded program that families genuinely trust. As the organization continues to build on these strengths, it can expand its reach by strengthening its digital presence, moving beyond word-of-mouth growth, and developing a structured support system to empower leadership and ensure sustainable success.

The Strategy

The work focused on three strategic needs: building a clear, consistent digital presence, creating a structured support network, and strengthening community and donor relationships for long-term sustainability.

  • Digital Presence A social media content strategy was developed to build year-round visibility for Go BYK beyond the summer camp season. It included a registration countdown content series to drive urgency, culturally grounded educational content rooted in Black history, and a consistent visual identity system to make the brand recognizable and discoverable to new families.

  • Structured Support Network A formal volunteer pipeline was proposed across three tracks: high school, college, and adult volunteers. This was paired with a two-week pre-camp training program and a parent-led fundraising committee to reduce operational pressure on leadership while building long-term organizational capacity.

  • Community and Donor Engagement A community engagement strategy was developed to expand Go BYK's reach beyond its existing network. Deliverables included a branded newsletter, a fundraising committee framework with a $10,000 goal, and a community event concept to deepen family and donor relationships year-round.
